Microsoft’s Edge browser is about to get a new feature that will make work easier for you and your team: ‘Draft with Copilot.’ This AI-powered tool can quickly generate text on any topic you need.
When you’re in Edge and encounter an empty text field—whether it’s an email body or a comment box—you can simply right-click and select ‘Draft with Copilot.’ A window will appear where you can enter your topic, hit ‘Generate,’ and let Copilot do the rest. In seconds, you’ll have text written on your specified topic.
You can even customize the text by adjusting its tone and length. Whether you want it more formal or casual, longer or shorter, Copilot can adapt to your needs.
Time is valuable, and ‘Draft with Copilot’ can help save both time and effort. Think about how much time your team spends drafting routine messages. With Copilot, writing a quick email or creating a social media post becomes much simpler.
Not only does Copilot speed up the process, but it also ensures that the text is grammatically correct and well-structured—particularly useful when writing in a non-native language.
Currently, this feature is available only in US English, but Microsoft plans to roll it out in more languages soon.
One thing to keep in mind: While Copilot is a powerful tool, it’s always a good idea to review what it generates. AI-generated text can sometimes feel a bit generic, so adding your personal touch or relevant details will help make it more engaging for your audience.
‘Draft with Copilot’ is still in the Edge Canary preview build, meaning it’s in development and will continue to be refined.
With Microsoft integrating Copilot across more apps, it’s clear that AI tools are becoming more accessible and will continue to enhance our work processes in the future.
